Prior to any excavation works commencing it is important to find out what lies beneath the surface. It is now mandatory that you must have a certified or accredited locator to identify / mark-up these services to eliminate damage to these critical services.
Our Radiodetection RD7000 and RD8000 electronic locators are the most advanced in the industry. Containing a unique arrangement of 5 custom manufactured, precision ground antennas, it allows our certified locators to identify underground services accurately.
All locating staff are fully certified and adhere to strict industry guidelines and Australian Standard AS5488-2013. Before any excavations commence, the work area should be checked to avoid conflicts or damage to underground services such as water, electricity, sewer and gas.
We can identify metallic services and with the use of a fibreglass rodder other services such as sewer, PVC , Earthenware, stormwater and concrete pipes.
This equipment is used to locate sheath faults on cables, and defective coatings on pipelines. It provides direction and magnitude of the fault information on the digital display upon the locator.
Our specialised leak detection equipment is used in order to make sure the leak is located as quickly as possible from above ground with minimal, if any, damage to your property, saving you money.
Plumbers without the necessary specialised leak detection equipment can only guess where these leaks are and may make costly mistakes in the process of looking for them.
Once the leak detection is done and the leak has been found, the position can marked and you can use your regular plumber to do the repair.
Using our MALA ground penetrating radar, services can be checked and marked.
The equipment sends out a downward signal which is reflected off the service, back to the antenna and presented on the high resolution colour display.
We can provide a detailed drawing of services located for your reference. Surveyors using GPS equipment can accurately pick-up the information and provide it in any format that is required.
Vacuum excavation also known as Hydro excavation or Non-destructive digging is the safest solution to expose underground utilities such as telecommunications and electric cables, gas lines, water lines and even tree roots.
Our vacuum excavation units use high pressure water to safetly dig holes and trenches. The water and mud is then removed via the high volume vacuum system into a waste / debris tank and this material can be disposed on-site or transported to a licenced waste facility.
Ideal for potholing, under footpaths and driveways, footings under buildings, fence posts and water/mud removal. We can access areas where vehicles cannot enter such as tight areas or boggy ground as we can run our hoses up to 160 meters.
Overtime and during adverse weather conditions dirt and debris can build up and clog storm water drains and sewerage lines. CPL uses two systems of cleaning- jetting and vacuum removal of material.
Jetting is a process in which high pressure water ispumped through a hose and nozzle inserted into the problem pipeline and the debris / material is dislodged and pushed back to the point of entry. This process is repeated until the pipeline is completely clean. The debris / material id removed by the vacuum hose into the waste tank on the truck mounted unit.
Debris material is easily removed for storm water pipes and culverts using our CAT Diesel powered high performance jetting units. A high pressured jetting hose is inserted into the problem pipe and the debris is directed back to operator for removal with the vacuum system.
Different nozzles are used for each situation to effectively clean the pipes and leave them like new.
DIAL BEFORE YOU DIG
Plan ahead and avoid costly damages to underground services. Remember Dial Before You Dig!
It’s important you know what your obligations are when it comes to protecting Australia’s underground networks.
All excavators have a Duty of Care to observe with regard to underground networks when digging. Underground network information should be sought in advance to excavation. So whenever you need to dig, email or call your local professional cable and pipe locators – Cable and Pipe Locations!
